Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an Everton striker, is said to have told his mates that he wants to join Arsenal this summer. The striker has been linked with a move away from the club in the recent past, including a move to Arsenal.
Regardless matter whether Everton is relegated or not, the striker has chosen to quit the club in the summer, according to Football Insider. According to the report, the forward has already expressed his desire to join Arsenal to his buddies.
Calvert-Lewin has been hampered by injuries this season, appearing in only 13 league games. Last season, the 25-year-old scored 16 times in 33 league games, which was his finest season in terms of goals. This season, though, the Englishman has only managed to score three goals.
The striker has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Newcastle United also apparently showing interest. Calvert-contract Lewin's with Everton expires in June 2025, so if any team decides to pursue a move this summer, he will not be cheap.
Arsenal are desperate for a striker.
Arsenal are expected to add to their attacking options this summer, and have been linked with a number of forwards from throughout Europe. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, the Gunners' only acknowledged attackers, are both out of contract in the summer.
Mikel Arteta opted to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang depart for Barcelona in January, and the club will have to replace him in the summer. Over the last week, Arsenal has been linked with Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Napoli's Victor Osimhen. In the summer, Arteta is allegedly interested in bringing in two strikers.
Given his fitness concerns and a drop in performance this season, it appears doubtful that the Gunners will sign Calvert-Lewin. It will be interesting to watch who Arteta signs in the summer.
